July 6, 2014

Hi Mom and Dad!

Thanks for the birthday wishes. :) It's so weird that it's already almost my birthday, haha, time goes by way too fast. Well this past week has FLOWN by.

I'm doing good! Still loving this area  and the people. The people are especially nice here, especially the ward members. I'm really blessed to be here. We were at a member's house yesterday, and we left and realized that my back tire was completely flat. So the Dad tried to fix it, and realized it had a hole, so he just let me take their family bike, and he's going to fix my bike for me today. Things like that just reaffirm my belief that Taiwanese people are the nicest ever!

So this past week has been awesome! We had a 'missionary tsunami' . . . basically about 12 missionaries from other areas (a lot from Taipei) came to the East Coast and just found investigators. Literally, they were just finding ALL day. The sisters all stayed with us, so it was a packed apartment, but way fun. The missionaries were all finding for us, so now we have a TON of awesome new investigators and people to work with. It's pretty much just to help this area grow, so it's really exciting to be here and be a part of it.

We met some great people from the tsunami.  One lady is from Indonesia, and she's working here. She came to church yesterday too! She doesn't really speak Chinese, so Sister Tracy and I were taking turns the entire time translating, which was exhausting, but she said she really liked it, so that's all that matters.

Another awesome new person we met last week came to English class and luckily lives in our area, and she's so cute! We met with her once last week and shared lesson 1, and apparently the Elders called her later to invite her to English Class again, and she told them she loved the lesson. So it's exciting. We're meeting with her again this Thursday.

Another miracle from yesterday was a part member family coming to church with us! The daughter is our investigator, and the brothers and Mom are all LA's. We've been trying for a while to get them to church. But yesterday we went over there at 8, and she immediately answered the door and just told us to wait a second, and then she AND her two brothers come out and all go with us to church! So that was a great miracle.

So last week was awesome :) We're planning on going to Taroko Gorge not next week, but the following one. Our Branch President said he could take us, so we're excited for that. And as for today, we're hoping to just get outside, maybe go on a little hike or something. Not anything too crazy because of my knees, but just to be outside in the mountains. It's so gorgeous here! I never get over it. The ocean and the mountains, they're all just great.

I'm still loving the area, my companion, roommates, investigators, members and pretty much everything else about this place. It's hot, but at least there's wind since we're by the ocean, haha.

Well, I'll be sending some pictures in a little bit, but I love you guys! Have a good week :) Love you and miss you!
