"Therefore, O ye that embark in the service of God, see that ye serve him with all your heart, might, mind and strength, that ye may stand blameless before God at the last day."

August 31, 2014

Hi Mom and Dad!

Well, this week has been pretty good. HuaLien is still doing great! We were actually out of our area for a lot of this week because we were in Taipei for a few days, but it's good to be back and on the normal schedule now. I'm getting more and more comfortable with being the one in charge, but it's still exhausting.

On the train to Taipei

Well, let's see, as for this past week...we were able to meet with V--  twice and she's still doing really good. We set a new date for her. She really has a sincere desire, so I know she'll make it. She came to church yesterday as well, so that was exciting.

Speaking of church yesterday, I got to speak during sacrament meeting! Haha, apparently the 5th Sunday of every month is like 'missionary day'. So Elder Azua spoke, then me, then we all sang, then Elder Sosa and then Elder Kesler. The other missionaries just went up to bear their testimonies a couple of weeks ago, so they didn't have to speak again. Everyone said they loved my talk though. It was cool, one sister came up to me as we were walking out the door and said it really made her think, and she actually has a friend that she really wants to get to come to church. (I talked about real conversion and missionary work). L-- came to church as well, so that was good too.

We saw lots of miracles with finding new investigators last week too. We found a X-- XianSheng and his grandma Q-- Ama, and it turns out that they both have interest in the church. They have a relative who's actually a member of the church, and they have both met with missionaries before, so that was awesome. We're going to go back later this week and meet with them.

We saw a HUGE miracle last night as well. We were trying to find an RC's home, and we just could not figure out where it was. And this girl walked by us and I just said hi. But then I asked her for directions, and she told us how to get there and then she kept talking to us. And she was like "You're church people right? I really want to go to church!" So basically, we had a lesson, she recognized that she felt the Spirit (she kept saying how touched she was and how she just wanted to keep talking to us) and we set up for Saturday. She also said herself that it was God's setup. It was really, really cool. A huge miralce.

We had another miralce through English class as well. We had a new student come, and for the spiritual share at the end of the lesson we talked about the Spirit. And she came up to us after and asked for a Book of Mormon, and said how when she got the pamphlet for English class she just had a feeling that she needed to come here, and she totally agrees with everything we just said about the Spirit. We're meeting with her Friday afternoon, because amazingly she lives right in our area. We are way too blessed, haha. Seriously, Heavenly Father has been helping us out so much this past week.

We went up to Taipei on Thursday for the Memorial service, and it was really good. It was sad, but good as well. It was good to be with all the missionaries.  And SUCH a tender mercy, they let us go to the temple that night! Since we're in HuaLien, we're too far away to have a temple day, so they arranged it for us Thursday night since we were already up there and stuff. :)  It was such a huge surprise blessing. We were exhausted by the time we got back to HuaLien Friday morning, but it was totally worth it.

So yeah, last week was really good. Lots of little tender mercies. As for today, I'm excited. Wu JieMei (Angel, from DanShui) is here visiting us again, so we're going to get her a cake for her birthday, and go to the beach to eat it. It'll be fun.

I really can't believe it's already September. August FLEW by! It's so crazy. Well, I love you guys! Have a great week, and a fun Labor Day!

Love,
Sister George

Lots of fun pictures this week!  Enjoy!

Having fun in English class, haha!
